El Dorado Park CDC is a resident-led nonprofit in Fresno working to strengthen our neighborhood through food access, community gardening, youth programs, and the arts. We transform vacant lots into vibrant spaces and empower residents to lead projects that build a cleaner, greener, and more connected El Dorado Park.

Residents and volunteers work together to keep our alleys clean and safe, transforming neglected spaces into welcoming pathways that reflect pride in our community.

With the support of local leaders and partners, we plant trees and create sustainable landscapes that bring shade, beauty, and environmental health to El Dorado Park.

Neighbors and artists come together to paint murals and public spaces that celebrate our diversity and tell the story of a neighborhood growing stronger together.
At El Dorado Park Community Development Corporation, we don’t just serve the community — we are the community. Our work is led by residents who care about creating a cleaner, safer, and more connected neighborhood. Together, we turn local ideas into action through:
Through collaboration, creativity, and care, we’re building a neighborhood where everyone can belong, contribute, and thrive — one project at a time.

Our projects happen throughout the neighborhood — in the garden, at events, and in local spaces. We’re often out working with residents, so appointments are best made by phone or email.
El Dorado Park Community Development Corporation (EDPCDC) began as a neighborhood movement, born from residents who wanted to see their community thrive again. What started as a handful of volunteers cleaning alleys and handing out food has grown into a collaborative network focused on neighborhood revitalization, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.
In 2011, Fresno State students teamed up with Wesley United Methodist Church and the Central California Food Bank to host the first El Dorado Park Food Distribution — a project that continues to serve hundreds of families each month. This effort showed what was possible when local residents, students, and faith partners worked side by side.
By 2012, community members formally established EDPCDC as a nonprofit to take that energy further — to give residents a voice in shaping their neighborhood’s future. Over the years, our focus has expanded, but our foundation remains the same: neighbors helping neighbors.

For over 50 years, Fresno Metro Ministries has supported health, food access, and social equity across Fresno. Together, we collaborate on food security, environmental justice, and resident empowerment initiatives that strengthen neighborhood wellness.

CEDP helps grassroots organizations like ours grow capacity, connect with other neighborhood leaders, and access resources for resident-driven revitalization. Their mentorship and network support our long-term sustainability and local leadership pipeline.

FACE (Faith in Community Empowerment) equips churches and residents with tools to collaborate for transformation. Partnering with FACE helps us bridge faith, service, and social action in El Dorado Park through community education and leadership programs.

Through this statewide initiative, EDPCDC serves as a “home base” for local outdoor education, helping families experience California’s natural beauty while building environmental awareness and stewardship in our own community.

Fresno State students have been vital volunteers and organizers since 2011. Through service-learning, student clubs, and ASI, they help run monthly food distributions, garden projects, and community engagement activities in El Dorado Park.

Every month, the Food Bank provides thousands of pounds of fresh produce and staples for our neighborhood food distribution, ensuring that hundreds of El Dorado Park residents have access to nutritious food and community connection.

Sierra RCD partners with EDPCDC through the California State Parks Outdoor Equity Program, funding nature outings, youth education, and community greening projects that give neighborhood kids hands-on experiences in local parks and forests.

In 2024, EDPCDC received a Measure P Arts & Culture grant to support neighborhood beautification and cultural programming. Together, we’re bringing public art, murals, and creative expression to shared community spaces.

As part of CalRecycle’s composting initiative, EDPCDC’s garden became a model site for urban composting and waste reduction. This partnership provides tools, training, and sustainability education for neighborhood residents.

Through the state’s Climate Action Corps Fellowship, EDPCDC hosts AmeriCorps members who lead environmental projects—tree planting, food recovery, and sustainability workshops—while building community resilience.

The Kresge Foundation has been a major supporter of El Dorado Park CDC’s mission, providing both project and operating grants for community beautification, garden creation, and organizational growth. Their investment helps us expand our impact and reach.

Wesley UMC was one of El Dorado Park CDC’s founding partners and provided space for our early community meetings and programs. While we’ve since transitioned operations to a separate site, we continue to collaborate with Wesley UMC for large neighborhood gatherings, special events, and community celebrations on their campus.
